Nigeria To Experience A Lunar Eclipse On October 19 And Solar Eclipse On November 3rd
According to International Time U.T.C, a Lunar Eclipse will occur On
October 19 and a solar eclipse will occur on November 3 2013 which will
be visible in some parts of the World. It will be visble in some cities
in Nigeria eg.Abuja, Ilorin, Kaduna, Lagos and other cities mostly in
north central and west.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind the Earth into itsshadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, a lunar eclipse can only occur the night of a full moon while a solar eclipse as seen from earth occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, and the Moon fully or partially blocks the Sun.
